How it works
From route export to RMA, without the spreadsheets
It works from the files your collection system already produces. No new hardware and no changes in the field.
Exports arrive automatically
Readings and event exports arrive by secure SFTP, a browser connector on your collection server (nothing to install), or upload. Each file is processed in minutes and added to every meter's history.
Every meter scored, every night
Each meter is checked against months of its own history. Normal behavior, like rollovers and new installs, isn’t mistaken for failure.
Work orders, then a fast shop sort
The Remove list exports to your work-management system. When meters come back in mixed baskets, the shop scans each one: return to the manufacturer, retest, or restock.
What it finds
Every flag comes with a plain-language reason and the meter’s own readings and events behind it.
Meters that are failing
Meters reporting internal faults are separated from one-off blips, and their history stays on record.
Meters that stop measuring
A dead meter is told apart from a quiet one, so crews don’t pull meters that are simply unused.
Registers that reset
Real resets are caught; normal rollovers are left alone.
Good meters pulled by mistake
Valve-closed and safety-shutoff states are flagged so the shop can reset and retest instead of returning a working meter.
Confirm it in the field
Add the Itron Field Tools device command export and the lists are checked against what technicians actually find at the meter.
The meter’s own answer
When a technician checks a meter, the meter reports its own error status. We show it beside what the route reads suggest, so a flag can read “confirmed in the field.”
Catches what routes miss
A route read is a snapshot. A field check can show an error that appeared after the last read, and meters that dropped off a route but are still alive.
A field timeline for every meter
Valve and battery state, programming, disconnects and failed attempts, in one list on the meter page. Useful when someone asks what was done to a meter and when.
It works on every plan, alongside your head-end. For utilities that use Itron’s FDM Tools, export the device commands and drop the file in like any other.
Meter Shop Sort
When retrieved meters come back in mixed baskets, the shop scans each badge or ERT label with a handheld scanner or a phone camera and gets an instant verdict.
- RMA to the manufacturer for meters that are truly failing.
- Reset and retest for good meters whose valve or safety shutoff tripped.
- Bench test or restock for everything else, with an RMA manifest per basket.
